West A Lounge

We found this place while looking around for local dive bars. The West A Lounge is located in Kannapolis at 1013 W A Street. This is truly a REAL dive bar and for locals. Yes, it is a house and inside you can see where walls were removed. It does have a pool table and the drinks are cheap.

We dropped in on afternoon and had beer. One drawback is that they do allow smoking inside. We did talk to a few folks and they all seemed nice enough. The bar itself is pretty small. I would say about 7-8 chairs. There were a few tables as well. This is a tiny place.

One thing we did notice that was when we arrived, there was only two cars in the parking lot. We left about 45 minutes later and they were double and in one case triple parked. I assume many of locals stop by after work.

This is a true hole-in-the-wall local bar. We will probably go back at a different time of day to see if we can catch some of the locals up for a chat.
