Side Stand Enlarger for Explorer
In the beginning, I did not really see a need to enlarge the footprint of the side stand. Then I went to a bike show and parked in the grass. Lets just say my bike ended up on its side. After finding a rock, I decided that bigger is better.
With the new 2023 Triumph Tiger 1200 Explorer purchase, many items needed to be replaced since the old bike's would not fit. The side stand enlarger is one of them. My old bike was not Hepco and Becker but I was making the purchase of a number of items so decided to just get theirs as well.
The installation is VERY simple. You have a few pieces:
- bottom plate
- top plate
- mounting screws
- filler plate
For the Explorer, you need to use the filler plate to take up the gap. Just place the bottom plate with the filler plate installed on the bottom of the side stand, put on the top plate, and install the screws. That's it!
For those of you who do not have an enlarger, you should really spend the money and get one. I have been so happy in many situations where the enlarger really makes a HUGE difference in my bike staying vertical or ending up horizontal.
