Route 66 - Day 21
Stayed in a KOA cabin again last night and really enjoyed having the bathroom vs the bathhouse. I knew I would be tired and I was. It was also nice having the bar at the campground for a few beers.
After waking up, made coffee and had a Pro Meal bar. Typical quick breakfast. Last night, a coupe of bikers rode in to the cabin next to me. It was late and I was tired so I introduced myself this morning. They were from Colorado and heading to a biker rally in Oklahoma.
After getting packed up, I headed out. I did watch the local news and it was going to be breezy again. And it was. I held my speed to 65 as that seems to be comfortable when the wind is blowing over 20 mph. I also stuck to the right lane again when I could.
As I approached Oklahoma City, trees and buildings began to block the wind. This was a great help since traffic was getting thicker. Rush hour was over so there was no stop and go. The flow was good and got thru the city in no time.
It is another gorgeous day. It is going to get hot again - low 90's. Since it is a short day (about 275 miles), there is no need to rush. I can take my time as I ride. Overall the ride was uneventful which is a good thing in my opinion. I hope this campground is as quiet as last night.
Got to the Sallisaw KOA a bit early and hoped I could get my cabin. Yup. All ready. Good since it is stinking hot. Got to the cabin, unpacked, and had a drink in the A/C.
This is a really nice place as well. It seems most KOA's are nice. It looks to be very quiet as well. This cabin faces a nice pond.
I will cook dinner tonight and I am sure breakfast will be coffee and a pro meal bar.
