Forma Adventure Boots

Forma Adventure Boots
My Adventure Boots

When I first got my adventure bike, I already had "some" riding gear. I have an ATV and would take it off road hence I had a lot of basic gear (helmet, boots, pads, gloves, etc) but most of this gear was motocross oriented. I realized that for this bike, I would need to get a different type of gear AND gear that was very safety oriented. First on my list was my helmet but next up was the boots.

So why did I choose the Forma Adventure boots? Fit. Plain and simple. It took me a VERY long time to find a set of boots that actually fit. I have a large foot. With this boot, I take their largest size - 49. I was a bit skeptical since the sizing chart stated you needed to first measure the length of your foot and then add 3/4". My size fell about 1/4" short for the largest size but I opted to try them anyway (I had not had much luck with other brands so far).

When they arrived, I put them on and was I surprised. First, they fit. Second, they were not as stiff as I expected. My moto boots are akin to wearing ski boots. They are stiff and actually not very much fun to walk in. The Forma boots fit very well and just felt like a new pair of cowboy boots. I left them on for 4 hours that day and just did my usual around the house and also went for a ride.

The boot itself is not as large in the toe as some boots. Shifting was not an issue. As stated, the fit was great. I like the look of the boot and the leather. The clasps seem durable (time will tell) and they state they are waterproof (again, we will see). The only thing I do not like is the top of the boot. It is very wide like a moto boot so that it can accept a knee pad of sorts. Not that it is an issue, it is just that it is hard to cinch the top of the boot tight as it is not really designed that way.  I assume other boots have this same type of issue.

The tread on the boot is aggressive. I have been wearing them now for 4 months and have hundreds of hours in them. I have walked quite a bit and have had no blisters or hotspots. I just put them on and they fit. They do not seem to bother y ankles or the lower part of my leg. I expected maybe a little chafing somewhere but none of that occurred.

Overall I am extremely happy with the boot, the fit, and the comfort. If I need to replace my boots, I would definitely purchase this boot again.
